The gran fondo
The Gran Fondo Riccione is one of the great amateur cycling events of the Italian spring, open to cyclists from around the world. A chance to ride through spectacular scenery — between the Adriatic Riviera and the hills of Marche and the Republic of San Marino — side by side with hundreds of fellow enthusiasts, on roads closed to traffic, just like professionals, but with nothing but the joy of riding in mind. For experienced gran fondo riders it is an extra challenge to enjoy on the roads of a cycling holiday; for first-timers, it is an unforgettable day with support, rest stops along the route and a big buffet at the finish.

105.7 km and 1,800 m of elevation gain through the valleys and medieval villages of Romagna, Marche and the Republic of San Marino, with unique views of the sea from above and the finish in a historic park in Riccione. A route that delivers adrenaline at every turn.

Hidden in the heart of the route lies the most eagerly awaited challenge: the timed segment between San Giorgio and Mondaino. 2.7 kilometres with 265 metres of elevation gain and an average gradient of 5.3% — the moment when the gran fondo becomes a real race. Times are recorded officially and count towards the final standings.
