Saturday is the rest day of the week.
Usually it is arrival and departure day, where you settle in your room and prepare for the adventure.
Excursion to the Marano Valley, with a break in Vecciano at our country house. Here we’ll enjoy a barbecue in the garden, with typical local dishes and a tasting of the balsamic vinegar we produce ourselves.
We head to the nature reserve of Sasso Simone and Simoncello, one of the largest forests in Europe.
Sasso Simone is where the so-called “city of the sun” was built in the 15th century - it was Cosimo de’ Medici’s dream of creating an unconquerable city.
We reach the remains of the city by walking along unusual rock formations known as calanques and then stop to taste local salami at Fontanelle Refuge.
Rest day. You can visit the Republic of San Marino, whose historical centre has been awarded UNESCO World Heritage Site status. Private tours can also be organised.
From 7:00 pm: "Typical Romagna-style dinner" with tasting of traditional local products, all rigorously homemade, and Sangiovese wine and limoncino liqueur.
Excursion to Montefiore with a visit to the castle; built for defensive purposes in the Middle Ages it dominates the entire valley.
At lunch, tasting of typical products such as oil, wine, cheese, cold cuts and cakes at an agritourism farm.
Historical and cultural excursion to Rimini.
A visit to the ancient Roman city with the Arch of Augustus (1st century BC), Tiberius’ Bridge (1st century AD) and the Surgeon's Domus (2nd century AD) dating back to Roman times. It is also worth visiting the mediaeval square, now Piazza Cavour, the Cathedral or Malatesta Temple and Sismondo Fortress, splendid Renaissance works, etc...
