A three-stage bike tour in the heart of Italy, offering the chance to discover historic and beautiful cities by bike, following a mountain route far from traffic, with two cycling guides and a support van at your service. Gubbio, Assisi, and Spoleto will be our destinations, while the Apennines and the Umbrian Forest will provide the backdrop for our rides.
This tour is ideal for both electric and road bikes, featuring two different routes to reach the same destinations, designed for cyclists who enjoy riding at their own pace, without rushing. That's why two guides and a van will be available!
This tour is also ideal for strong cyclists that wish to make long distances at high average speed, we will just make longer journeys to get to the same place because the roads to get to Spoleto are hundreds! You just have to let us know!
The tour begins in Cagli, where we will arrive by van from Riccione with our bikes in tow. We'll start with a tour of the historic village nestled in the Apennines, followed by a ride up to Fonte Avellana, home to an ancient monastery at the foot of Mount Catria. This peaceful nature retreat will be our stop to visit the abbey. Surrounded by the lush greenery of the Umbrian forests, we will then descend into the city of Gubbio, renowned for its architectural marvels and rich history.
The second stage, along a hilly route for some and slightly more challenging for the more experienced riders, takes us from Gubbio to Assisi, the city of St. Francis, patron saint of Italy. We’ll explore Assisi first by bike and then on foot in the evening, during sunset, before dining in a traditional restaurant and finally resting at a hotel for the night.
The third stage will bring us to the city of Spoleto after climbing Mount Subasio, famous for its panoramic views of the valley below.
Spoleto, with its Roman origins, boasts a rich historical and cultural heritage. Notable sites include the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and the Albornoz Fortress. Known for the Festival of Two Worlds, Spoleto offers a captivating blend of art, history, and stunning landscapes.
We will have dinner in Spoleto at a traditional restaurant and spend the evening exploring the city.
On the last day, after breakfast, we will depart for Bologna Airport in our minibuses.
The route, with its manageable distances and gentle inclines, is designed for cyclists who enjoy riding at their own pace, whether on electric or road bikes.
This will be a wonderful opportunity to combine our passion for cycling with our love for the most beautiful and authentic side of Italy!
