GUBBIO AND PERUGIA
(Romagna and Umbria)

The tour leaves from Urbino, where we will arrive by minibus from Riccione, transporting our bicycles, right away we will visit the old town, which many of our guests already know, then we will head down towards the Furlo Gorge, where we will have our first break for refreshments before climbing towards the Scheggia Pass and descending towards Gubbio, an ancient Medieval town, where we will have dinner and spend the first night.

The second leg will take us from Gubbio to Assisi, the town of Saint Francis, the Patron Saint of Italy, which we will visit before arriving in the town of Perugia with its wonderful historic centre. In Perugia we will have dinner in a typical restaurant and stop for the night.

During the third leg, from Perugia to Arezzo, we will ride along Lake Trasimeno, the most important lake in the centre of Italy, with its wonderful colours and landscapes, and cycle through the town of Cortona, which is old and perfectly preserved, here we will have a break and visit the town. The arrival point on this day, which is the last, is in Arezzo, a prehistoric settlement that became Etruscan and then Roman, and that is now an important Provincial capital with  archaeological sites that date back to Etruscan and Roman times.

We will return to Riccione from Arezzo by minibus.
For its distances and gentle slopes the route is easy and suitable for cyclists in the “Cappucino Light” group, who have trained to cycle for about 5/6 hours a day.
This is a wonderful opportunity to blend our passion for cycling with our love for the most beautiful and authentic part of Italy!

General information
• The program is open to middle-trained cyclists; the average speed will be 17/19 km per hour (cappuccino light group)
• All services for cyclists and also a first-aid and mechanical service minibus following the group during the 3-days excursion.
• a minimum number of 5 participants is needed to make the excursion possible and the maximum number of participants is 18. The program is subject to changes as regards indicated routes and times.
• Please bring a small trolley with the bare essentials for 3 days (not large Samsonite suitcases) :-)
